Meat and potato casserole (Filosoof)

Traditional recipe from The Netherlands

  • 250g of cold meat
  • 500g boiled potatoes
  • 2 tbsp of butter or margarine
  • 1 cup of gravy and water or stock
  • 1 small onion
  • pepper
  • salt
  • bread crumbs
  • butter



Mince the meat, mash the potatoes, fry the chopped onion in the butter.

Mix all these ingredients together and add the gravy or stock until is as thick as mashed potatoes.

Sprinkle with some pepper, salt and nutmeg.

Put in a casserole, cover with bread crumbs and some knots of butter.

Heat and brown under the oven or grill.
